    Upload Photo ID

    SpartanCard Photo Upload Instructions
Your SpartanCard is your official student ID and provides you access to your residence hall, parking garage, meal plan, library, fitness center, sporting and other special events on campus. You will need it as soon as you arrive. All new students are required to submit an acceptable photo by the deadline on your SpartanStart portal.

Upload a current full-faced headshot photograph with a minimum resolution of 1280 x 960, in JPEG format only. It must be a passport-quality and -clarity color photograph on a neutral color or blue background. Please do not wear items that obscure the head or face (hats, sunglasses, etc.). Photos that do not meet these specifications cannot be used.

    Photo criteria

    •  - Current head shot photograph
    •  - Must be high quality and clarity
    •  - Must be 1280 x 960 resolution
    •  - JPG only
    •  - Neutral color or blue background
    •  - Do not wear items that obscure the head or face (hats, sunglasses, scarves, etc.)
We will automatically delete anything that is not in this format.

Pick up your Spartan Student ID in person during orientation check-in by presenting an official photo ID such as your driver's license or passport or military ID.

Your ID photo submission is not only used for your SpartanCard, but also in Workday and other systems. It will be viewed by classmates, faculty, and other members of the UT community. Because of this, the photo you submit should be chosen carefully and thoughtfully. In addition, external photo submissions will not be accepted after each semester’s orientation. Photo updates will be allowed three weeks into the semester and will be charged a replacement fee.
